For $249 you can get a Squeezebox without wireless and just use a
crossover cable to go between the Squeezebox and your host machine's
ethernet port, or you a normal cable to go into a hub or switch.

To do it wireless, you get the $299 version of the Squeezebox, and setup
a WAP (wireless access point). There is software to allow this with a
normal wireless card, but it is about the same price and a LOT easier to
just get a WAP/wireless router and use that. I don't think all 802.11
cards will work as an access point either.

The Squeezebox is just another network device, like a laptop computer
with a wireless card.

HTH

I just ordered another Squeezebox last night. :-)
