Bryan Phinney got an infinite number of monkeys to type out:

Guess you missed the part where Lee mentioned these were *not* free mirrors. He
paid for the 'privelege' of having access to reliable servers, and, as has
become more and more the case, Mandriva just does not give a shit.

I'll take this opportunity to say goodbye, not that anyone gives a rat's ass.
The latest versions of this distro are, to put it bluntly, crap. Things like my
printer, scanner and camera do not work with Mandriva, whereas they worked OOTB
with 9.2. Things are supposed to improve over time with effort. I can only
assume that *my* financial contribution went to a new mahogany boardroom table
instead of a supposedly 'user-friendly' distro.

Debian has opened my eyes real wide. No hunting for mirrors, no dependency
problems, for fuck's sake it's almost boring it's so easy. Let me repeat: not a
*single problem*.

...and with Ubuntu making Debian accessible to Newbs, Mandriva can keep on its
corporate/suits/fuck-the-user attitude and end up like Fedora.

Oh, and they couldn't ask for a better bunch. This list used to be fun and
useful, when Stephen and Charlie and them were around. Now it just seems
ill-tempered hypocrites and childish vendettas prevail (to the people who have
mailed me offlist and supported me in the past, you know who you are and you
know I love ya!).

All good things must come to an end, watching this thread and experiencing the
dung-heap that is the latest 'release' are the end for me.

See y'all.
