Just for the record, I'm still on Mandriva because it still autodetects hardware and preferences that Debian forces me to tinker with. If the distro (Debian and Ubuntu) has problems playing DVDs and doesn't offer audio to the user by default (Debian), but installs a full fledged mail server (exim, debian), it's not for my desktop. A friend of mine had to jump through such hoops to enable automounting of discs and usb pens on Debian, I wanted to scream. So no, I don't think it's a good _desktop_ distro, though it is an excellent distro otherwise. Ubuntu's better, but I do want to watch the DVDs I bought. Perhaps it has a simple solution, but it's a problem I don't have here. And yes, I haven't had problems with the hardware I throw at my install. Not wanting to continue a flamefest, but I think it has to be said. -- Adriano Varoli Piazza The Inside Out: http://moranar.com.ar ICQ: 4410132 MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
