I'm concerned also. Seems as though some of the most helpful, knowledgable people have gone.

I'm still here, but, although I try to be helpful when I can, I certainly wouldn't describe myself as knowledgeable except in a few areas!

With the diminishing numbers both here and on the Expert list, I wonder if Mandriva should now consider dropping the somewhat artificial distinction between 'Newbie' and 'Expert' by merging the two lists into a single 'Users' list?

Many of us are on both lists anyway. Some very useful people seem to be 'experts' on most subjects, and I hope that there will still be occasional 'total newbies' who are trying Linux for the first time, but most of the people on both of the lists who are reasonably knowledgeable about some things are newbies at things they haven't tried before.

It should be obvious from the phrasing of the question (and possibly from the identity of the poster!) whether a newbie-level or expert-level answer is needed, and I think it would benefit what's left of the Mandriva user community to have us all gathered together on one list.

Comments welcome!
