select the file by moving your cursor to it and hit the F8 key to delete it.
Easy eh, now learn to use mc too.
To reboot your machine once you have regained the space, type 'reboot'
and tap your enter key.

John, I would also recommend you run install and run anacron so that
your log files (what most likely is eating the hard drive space on you)
get 'rotated' or try leaving the computer on overnight, so that cron has
a chance to run.
