I have a very easy scheme to upgrade my firefox. And I don't use the
RPM's for that. I just download the prebaked binary tar.gz, and unpack
that. If there is an update, I rename the existing 'firefox' directory
to 'old_fox', unpack the new tar.gz and then I make sure the plugins
directory is equal that of to the old one. If the new version is okay, I
remove the old one. Otherwise rolling back is just a mv away.
I admit it is a bit of manual work, but it is a very easy way to keep up
with the latest versions. The shortcut on the desktop or a quicklaunch
bar will remain the same, so that is no trouble either.

This might be of some assistance to you or someone else.
Just thought that I should share this, as it is not really a heap of
work.

Paul
