The only way to be sure now that I can think of is to reconnect the old 
monitor and reboot.  Then go through the same process as before, but when you 
connect the new monitor (and if it will work) use the refresh rates etc from 
the new monitor and set them manually this time.  I had to do that with a new 
benq about 18months ago.
