You didn't describe your modem to us. Can you do that, model number,
brand, etc?
Serial modems are pretty standard. Detecting them in your release
shouldn't be a problem. There isn't anything necessary to get them to
work, other than getting the port settings right and any necessary init
strings.
This isn't a Winmodem of sorts is it?
