Dan LaBine got an infinite number of monkeys to type out:
Enjoy, knowing that you are now a master of kernel management. Make sure
you quaff a pint of GOOD ale in celebration. Not that 'Bud' or 'Miller'
stuff, but a good pint of Guinness or something.
1st off, let me say, I'm blown away by the time you took to go through all
those instructions, considering...well, whatever. I guess that's all in the
past now for both of us. Thanks, really.
I am sad to say, however, that I remain, and probably will ever be, an
impulsive id10t.
Yes, I reinstalled. Figured, hey, I might go through all that and XOrg still
won't like to run my stupid games. Also, it's a relatively new system, so I
didn't have to do much to get it up and running again. Few minor niggles to
iron out, but no showstoppers (fingers crossed).
No matter what happens though, it's good to know that people are willing to
take the time to help. Next time I'll be more patient, knowing that you guys
will try to help dig me out of whatever hole I get myself into.
Thanks again.
Glad you got it sorted. I suggest you add kernel-source to your urpmi
skip list - that way it won't be updated accidentally to a non-matching
newer version when you do --auto-select.
