Yes, I reinstalled. Figured, hey, I might go through all that and XOrg still
won't like to run my stupid games. Also, it's a relatively new system, so I
didn't have to do much to get it up and running again. Few minor niggles to
iron out, but no showstoppers (fingers crossed).
No matter what happens though, it's good to know that people are willing to
take the time to help. Next time I'll be more patient, knowing that you guys
will try to help dig me out of whatever hole I get myself into.

Hmm. Guess I should have suggested the re-install thing to begin with,
but thought it might come across as a smart-ass comment.
You shouldn't be too surprised that I pitched in though. It's what I try
to do most of the time, regardless of who or whatever water has passed
under the bridge.
I'm solely focused on helping folks on this list if I can. It's my form
of payback for the free software and the fact that my business is based
on it.
Still, there may be enough room on here for us to get along (notice I
didn't say "co-habitate"?) and possibly help each other - from time to time.
Also, notice that I didn't make any comments regarding your use of the
term "impulsive idiot"? It was tough, but I let it slide (snicker).
Hopefully, the tentative peace we seem to have here can stay in place
for a while and we can get things done. I'll leave it at that.
