Hi Joe,

>/sbin/modprobe --first-time -r --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0 install
>snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-intel8x0
>&& { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; } install usb-interface
>/sbin/modprobe uhci-hcd; /sbin/modprobe ehci-hcd; /bin/true
># --- BEGIN: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. ---
># --- ALSACONF version 1.0.9 ---
>#options snd device_mode=0666
>#alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0
>#alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
># --- END: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. ---
>alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
>remove i810_audio /sbin/modprobe --first-time -r --ignore-remove
>i810_audio install i810_audio /sbin/modprobe --first-time
>--ignore-install i810_audio
The one up here (remove i810...) looks very much like the ones at the
beginning. Those at the top are the ones that load the OSS drivers
(/sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss;) and that looks like what was working.
In my modprobe.conf there also is the sound-slot-0 line and my system
also uses the oss drivers. I think you will be safe after a reboot,
since MCC will stop and start the sound service in the same manner that
a shutdown/start will do.
