Okay, that's weird, Java is one of the few things I've never had a problem
with, and I don't even like having to use it! LOL!

Only thing I can think of that if you installed the JDK, there might be some
conflicts or leftovers that are mucking things up.

The RPM should have insalled to /usr/java/jre1.5.0_06, do you have any other
java folders under /usr from your install of the JDK?

Also, make sure the apps that require the JRE know the path to the java exec,
ie. /usr/java/jre1.5.0_06/bin/java. For example, in Firefox, open about:config
and for filter, type in 'java'. My path shows: /usr/java.
