joe, regarding cedega and half-life, have you tried running steam from cedega and choosing to 'register a game i already own' or some similar option, then entering your hl2 cd key? i ask because i did this with my original half life key and was the able to download the original hl via steam, maybe that would work for the cd ver of hl2? as a p.o.i. the cd key for original hl got me hl, blue shift and o4 via steam, meaning my blue shift key was usuable on my bros machine to get the same! :) o4 key apparently doesn't get you anything, sorry to go off-top :)
