Hi Margot, I think my problem lies with the linkage from the login manager to xfce executable and components. I am going over the faq and instructions on the xfce website. I'll let you know how I make out. On a side note.....is XFCE your preferred window manager? Thanks for all your help....it sure pointed me in the right direction.
