Going back on Joe's answer about using ifup eth0:0, I get this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# ifup eth0:0
/sbin/ifup: configuration for eth0:0 not found.
Usage: ifup <device name>

If just doing an ifup eth0 I get:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# ifup eth0

Determining IP information for eth0...External network device eth0 is not
ready. Aborting..

>From what I can tell by running ifconfig I'm using eth0. The reason for this
goat screw is that EL is telling me that suddenly my IP given to me by
Sprint is being blocked from accessing Earthlink support newsgroups. I
thought that if I managed to change it it may fix the problem, however,
from what I see I'm doing something wrong.

Any ideas?
