Hi All,

I'm trying to set up printing to a remote computer, on our home network.

The machine in question, is running Wndows XP (not ideal, I know, but it's not my machine!), and the printer is being shown as shared.

Problem being, Printerdrake is just not detecting it on remote machines.

For info, the printer is a Canon Pixma IP1500, USB.

Any pointers on where I should be starting to look, in order to get it going?

Thanks in advance,

James

James,

Which version is the XP box? Home or Pro? If it's the Pro (yeah, I know,...XP Professional is an oxymoron) version, you'll have a bit of work to do, before XP will allow printer sharing.

Pro has a lot more security to manage than Home does and that may be getting in your way. If so, you'll need to add your existing network users to the XP box and set your printer share permissions so that those users have access to the printer.

If you're running the Home version, you may still need to add the users, but I can't say for sure.
