Alas... After updating the libraries digikam starts, but so far no fun.
I tried the A520 PTP mode and also A60 PTP mode.

The problem may be somewhere else though. This is what I find in syslog:

And beyond that it is a puzzle. Why would the kernel address two
devices? (Or do I interpret this wrongly?)
