Hi Russ,
There obviously 2 ways to accomplish this. You can read this as a
start: http://mandriva.vmlinuz.ca/index.php/SysAdmin/Urpmi/Upgrade
All told though it would be better to download an iso CD's/DVD for 2006
ftp://ftp.proxad.net/pub/Distributions_Linux/Mandrakelinux/official/iso/2006.0/i586/
and use that to *install*, keeping your $HOME dir intact and upgrade
just the distribution ... This is what I've been doing with success.
