after you had _read_ the files, (read access is no problem, it's witting
to the NTFS file system) from there, you _wrote_ them to a different
file system on the CD (udf?) then read from that file system, if I read
your post correctly.
most all *nix can _read_ NTFS, it's the writing that introduces the
possibility for data corruption is the reason for disabling full write
support in NTFS still, as I understand it
