Lee, I assume that the SMC is yours? If so, set up the new router and
have a go at 'grc.com' - run the 'Shield's Up' test and see if the new
router has any holes. If not, then try it out for a few weeks and keep
checking it.
If you find holes when you run the tests at GRC, then bail on the new
router and go back to the SMC. Only suggestion I can think of for now.
