Get jre-1_5_0_09-linux-i586-rpm.bin from
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp clic the download of Java
Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9
as root chmod +x jre-1_5_0_09-linux-i586-rpm.bin
sh jre-1_5_0_09-linux-i586-rpm.bin
If it makes an rpm (which I think it does) then type
urpmi jre-whatever-file-was-created.rpm
This is assuming you are running i586 of course.
