Thanks Charles....I should have mentioned that mine is a mobility card....
Radeon Mobility 9600 (M10) NP (AGP) 
Dell Inspiron 9100
I have never had much luck with the hardware acceleration with this laptop.
Is there anything particular for the laptop mobility cards or are your initial 
comments good for them as well.
