hi all,

This morning when I updated 'glibc' I got this:

2/10: glibc warning: /etc/localtime created
as /etc/localtime.rpmnew
warning: /etc/nsswitch.conf created as /etc/nsswitch.conf.rpmnew
#############################################
Restarting all the services of this run level

(followed by pages of shorewall reconfig and other services
stopping/starting messages prior to continuing install of updates)

Could someone enlighten me in layman terms what these warnings
imply/signify.

TIA
