I'm trying to setup some video servers at work for our wireless camera
system. I have the IP addresses I need to enter and for the subnet mask I'm
using 255.255.255.0, however, a gateway address is also asked for. I seem
to remember using 10.10.0.0 somewhere before. This system consists only of
three cameras linked on a wireless system, we use them here on the ranges
at Ft. Hood to let the tankers see how well or bad they're shooting. I've
tried leaving the gateway address blank but didn't work. Anyone have any
ideas? The IP's I'm using are 192.168.1.11, 192.168.1.6 and 192.168.1.5
Thanks
I believe the gateway in this instance would be the address given to the
wireless router and in your case should be 192.168.1.1 in order for it
to be on the same network. You can try in a browser typing in that
address and see if a config page pops up or log in. Most routers like
Linksys or netgear have that address preconfigured on them, or they use
192.168.0.1. Not sure what your using but mayhap the above gives you an
idea?
