Hi All,
A new problem today.
My Tosh Sat Pro 4290 laptop running Mandriva One.
When I try to put in new RAM the thing won't boot, it goes through the
bios check routine and say RAM ok but after LiLo it stops with the
message Kernel panic attempted to kill init.
It 64MB on board which is sdram 10ns. The new expansion Ram is 7,5
ns. It seems ok in the bios stage of boot as the machine counts the
RAM and says OK but Mandriva doesn't seem to like it at all. The
processor is 550MHz. I thought of updating the bios but that comes as
a Windows exe so yet another snag! I re-seated the RAM sticks several
times.
Wrist slashingly yours
