I've had no real negative side effects, either with a "clean" install, or
upgrading from 2006.

I had a Java and Flash issue if you recall a while back, but the Java issue
was me forgetting how to configure Konqueror, and the flash eventually sorted
itself out! Occasionally it wont work, but a quick page reload, and all is
well.

I'm running a Voodoo3 graphics card, and have an issue with the Linux version
of the game "Soldier Of Fortune", where the game is just sooo slow!.

But, I've had that since 2005LE on this particular adapter, so I've resigned
myself to the fact that this will probably never work correctly, so I play it
on an old WIN98 box instead.

The only other issue, is that although my Wireless card is working, and in use
now as it happens, when I go into wireless properties, to search for new
networks, I get "no adapter found"... whether this is a bug, or whether it's
beacuse I'm running a Windows driver with ndiswrapper, I dont know. Either
way, it's no major deal.

And last, but not least, MDKOnline wont work... I'm beginning to regret paying
for the srvice now... I've had some infrequent emails from Sophie at support,
but it still isnt working.. it will upload my settings, but wont connect to
the server to check updates! and when I look at my account on the web page,
then I get told that I have no hosts set up for this account.....

In all, quite a painless transition... the wireless side of things was a lot
less painful than 2006... that used to have me tearing my hair out sometimes!

Well done Mandriva guys.... hope 2008 is just as good!

James
