Charles A Edwards got an infinite number of monkeys to type out:

Actually, that's a question I've always meant to ask. How would one
'roll back' an update if it causes problems?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish we had a feature like
System Restore. I would be testing out upgrades all the time!
There is. But you will have to get off your procrastinating ASS
and upgrade to 2007.0 ;)

urpmi-recover

urpmi.recover is a tool to help management of RPM rollbacks. It has
three main functions:

"urpmi.recover --checkpoint" is used to define a point in your system
that you consider stable, and to start storing info that will enable
you to rollback installations and upgrades to this state.

"urpmi.recover --list" is used to list chronologically all
installations and upgrades on your system. (It has two variants,
"--list-all" and "--list-safe".)

"urpmi.recover --rollback" is used to roll back installations and
upgrades to a previous point in the past (at most until your check
point.)

You...Oooooh, I could just kill you! This always happens, everything
important is workin' just fine, and people keep tempting me to upgrade...'it's
soooo coooool, try it, c'mon'...jeez yer like pushers!

Don't you know I already have 'issues'?? Now I can add 'Compulsive Upgrade
Anxiety Disorder'.

in Joe's case, we might call that dis-order "large hard drive envy"
lmao

/ducks to avoid $HURLED_ITEMS ;)
good idea I had a nice greasy meal so I'm about in the mood for a good
hurl and you'd make the perfect repository ;)

Have you been talking to my wife?
