If you people can't grasp the *very simple concept* that whether *you* see it as
offensive is of no relevance *whatsoever*, then there is simply no hope.
*Ron was wrong*. No debate, no question, no doubt. He crossed the line.
If Lyvim et al can't control themselves, and continue to pollute the Newbie
list, especially with so many people needing help w/ 2007, they are only
hurting the community, certainly not me or any of the other 'leftists' who
asked, politely, that ethnic jokes be kept off the list.

For God's sake Bruce, Give it a rest! You wanted to 'prevent further
discord'? Does breaking the mailing list etiquette rules promote that?
Does insulting Ron somehow prevent that discord you so desperately want
to avoid?
Wouldn't a simple email stating that you were uncomfortable with the
racist connotations have the same effect, instead of what you did send?
In retrospect, was your email to Ron worth the effort and did it
accomplish the goal you had hoped for? I think not!
If anything, Sir, it was YOU who couldn't control himself and you
clearly demonstrated your level of control when you essentially attacked
Ron for something that could have been handled more maturely. I keep
praying for a miracle here, but left to your own devices, you always
seem to return to the same kind of person you're known to be. It's a
shame really.
OK, Ron was wrong. Big deal. It was an honest mistake. He forgot how
sensitive you and a few others would be about something like this, but
you compounded the mistake by making a big issue out of it and breaking
those 'Oh-So-Critical' rules yourself.
So what's next Bruce? Shall we now work out some sort of punishment
system? Perhaps we should introduce the death penalty for list-members
that break these precious rules? Where does it end man? If you can't be
reasonable in your chiding of a fellow list-member - WITHOUT breaking
those rules you hold most dear, then how do you expect anyone to take
you seriously, instead of seeing you as a self-appointed 'List Nazi'?
For the sake of peace, stop acting like a thoughtless zealot, will ya?
You know what they say, dood. If you're not part of the solution, you're
part of the problem. Guess which category you're falling into here.
