construction.
This is my message:
I tried very hard and several times to correctly install Mandriva 2007
Powerpack.(bought last week). I am unable to start Mandriva in graphical
mode, always the xterm console comes up. I checked the options of the
graphical server and the graphical interface at start-up is activated. This
morning I re-installed Mandriva and selected both KDE and Gnome. The result
is the same: xterm console.
You need to know that I quit Suse for just one reason: lack of assistence.
I sincerely expect Mandriva to come up with a solution.

P.S. the FREE download, received with Linux magazine # 44 does start up
correctly in Konquerer. This means that my hardware is sufficient to
presernt Mandriva in graphical mode. Updating FREE by Powerpack does not
work either, for
in FREE \\\'root\\\'is disabled.
