Hi,
I'm really no expert but in your shoes I would try disable the IDE
support in the BIOS set up, set 1st boot option to CDRom and 2nd to
USB. Then install Mandy One to the USB stick.
I used to use Mandy One on a couple of ancient laptops and found it to
be very stable and forgiving of my constant mistakes.
