After setting up the PLF Nvidia_legacy drivers and making everything "right" I was still not getting the 3D and having some real performance problems (20 second refresh time in kmail, etc.) with character applications. I swapped the PLF drivers with the Nvidia supplied drivers several times, to no avail: no 3D and bad performance. mcc still thought that I had 3D enabled, disabled that and the performance came back after a reboot (dkms drivers, I guess). Just to be sure I reset to 3D, restarted and the performance problems returned. I'm not sure why I get the 3D desktop with Mandriva One, but after several days of screwing with this puppy I think I'm just going to leave this bit alone. It is snappier with the newer drivers in just 2D mode. ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
