I am recently upgraded from Suse Linux 6.3 to Suse Linux 7.2. Now,
the graphical output window of a program I use (the program is called
PAW) is always corrupted when it is partly hidden by another window.
The FAQ page of the program says that the program uses the 'backing
store' feature of X11 and gives the following hint for correcting
this:

-------

On X11 platforms:

LINUX: It depends which daemon is in charge of putting up the
login box on the X-Windows screen, and start the X-Window session
at login time. It can be xdm, kdm (provided with the KDE
environment) or gdm. If it is xdm or kdm the line starting the X
server in the file /usr/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers should not contain
the option -bs it should look something like:

          :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X +bs

If it is gdm the line starting the X server in the file
/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf should contain the option +bs it could be
    something like:

    0=/usr/bin/X11/X +bs

------

I use kdm as a login manager (but fwvm2 as a window manager). When I
do this change suggested, i.e. add '+bs', then the login manager
doesn't start at all anymore.

This this problem occurred only after the Linux upgrade, I hope the
solution is simple but couldn't find anything myself.

Thanks a lot for help !
