hey, just upgraded my Xserver from 4.0.3 (I think) to 4.1.0 on SuSE 7.2, it runs mostly fine (some problems redrawing stuff in kde, but thats pretty minor), but I can't switch to a virtual console (Crtl-Alt-F#) - screen flickers a few times, then I get a black screen with a mouse pointer in the middle, which doesn't respond. I can sometimes Ctl-Alt-F7 back to X, sometimes it crashes the server. The console getty's are still running, I just can't access them. killing xdm (and subsequently X) from within an xterm leaves the computer in the blackscreen with mouse pointer state (essentially unusable except for network logins).
