I found the following modules
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/video/matrox/i2c-matroxfb.o
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/video/matrox/matroxfb_DAC1064.o
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/video/matrox/matroxfb_Ti3026.o
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/video/matrox/matroxfb_accel.o
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/video/matrox/matroxfb_base.o
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/video/matrox/matroxfb_misc.o

which one would be appropriate and how to convince
linux to use it?
(As I said I am really new in the area)
