Hello, looking for a little bit of help with my X server. I rebooted my
server last night and came back into the room to see a login prompt from
the command line. After logging in and running startx, I get an error
message about my Fonts being unable to init font path unix/:-1. I vi'd in
and commented the offending line out and managed to startx and am in
Mandrake now. I went back into my XF86Config-4 file and edited the Font
Path's back to the original settings and ran Xconfigurator to test when I
was greeted with the same error message (yes, I saved the file after making
changes). Checking the error log, I found that the unix/:-1 comment was
back in the file, with my changes totally gone, and was set by a default
setting (per the error log file). My question is, where are the "defaults"
setup at, why is it set to unix/:-1, and how did this happen in the first
place (ideas, I know it's almost impossible to determine the initial cause).

Thanks in advance,
James
