I am trying to get XFree86 running on my Compaq Presario 12XL300, which has a Trident Cyberblade i1 chipset on its video card. When I try to start X-windows, only 1/3 (vertically, on the right) of the screen is coming up as X-windows, the rest is black. Everything is totally function in that 1/3 of the screen. When I cancel out of X-windows with Cntl-Alt-Backspace, the screen continues to be mostly black, the only change is that it jumps to less than 1/4 being visible, still on the right side. Which device is causing this, the screen or the video card? How do I fix this?
