I am running XFree86 4 series, on libc21. I have a savage4 (diamond stealth 3 , s540) card. When I ran XFree86 -configure, it set up my card to work properly. I manually edited the XF86Config file for depths and modes (1280x1024 and 800x600). However unless I startx -- -depth 24 (or 16 whatever). It starts in 8bit depth mode 640x480 (default?). What do I need to add to XF86Config file to start in 24depth (or 16) and 1280x1024 or 800x600. I do support this, Cause I have ran it b4. But I cant switch modes with the alt-ctrl-+ or anything I as I can see. I would like to be able to startx with the 24 depth, and 1280x1024 (or 800x600 as needed).
