man XF86Config
The format (or Syntax/grammar) is like spelling and grammer in English. The
computer, however spits the dummy if anything is wrong. The above man
page describes the rules for a correct format.
"parsing" is the act of extracting semantics from the grammer/syntax of the
config file. Since you got a parsing error, then the system is not happy with
the format of that file, and there is certainly an error in it somewhere.
