Yeah, RH 6.x and later use xfs by default. Nix this, unless you really need
it. Unless you know which FontPath entries you need, use the defaults. (the
defaults are bad, though, if you add your own fonts.) also, try adding the
freetype (or xft, but NEVER, EVER both) module (this adds TrueType support.
X doesn't ship with any TT fonts by default, but AFAIK, RedHat has a few)

Hi possibly a dumb solution: comment out unix/:7100
check whether you gave a list of font path which did
not start with a fixed font (it must start with fixed
fonts, best is no font path let the defaults take care
of themselves)
Possibly add module "speedo" and "type1" in the module
section (whatch out the spelling -no caps-)
