Nothing, really, it's just an unnecessary hassle to maintain on a single box
when the X server can already handle the fonts just fine. xfs is good when
you have X terminals or numerous systems running X on a network that need to
access the same fonts.

This should not be confused with the xfs filesystem, which absolutely rules
(ie., use it if at all possible)
