Surprisingly, I'm using the nv driver on my laptop with standard settings and X still crashes. It basically hangs and you can't seem anything on the display of the laptop. http://camera.unix-fu.org/elec/ will show exactly what I'm talking about, but I haven't had much luck on this laptop with FreeBSD unfortunately + X + nv.
