Is your monitor being correctly identified in the X configuration? If not,
then find out what the exact Horizontal and Vertical setting are and choose
"Custom" under the monitor settings.

Subject: [Newbie]video modes and resolutions

Hello ,

I have a problem with the resolutions under X ...
  Right now I'm using Windows 98 at 800x600 with 16k colors...and its
ok, but when I'm in Mandrake Linux and I'm using KDE I have to use
1024x768, because otherwise I can't see the bottoms of the windows
and overall...the whole screen looks like 640x480 under Windows ...
Is there a way to fix this ?
