Hi, I don't know the card and cannot help much. Just want to mention that I suspect XF86_FBDev is the X 3.3.6 server and fbdev the X 4.0.3 driver, so you should first check which of 3.3.6 or 4.0.3 you are running (I suspect 4.0.3 otherwise you would bum out with fbdev) have you tried vesa? slow (unaccelerated) but could get you started and from there you might have less of a problem figuring out what does not work. There may well be a driver for your card but I don't know which one it is, possibly on the www.XFree86.org you might (should) find a list of drivers and which cards they support. sorry not to be able to help more Lionel --- Hans Westerlund <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi! > > I'm been trying to set up X-windows with fbdev in RedHat 7.1, as some > people seems to have managed to get the Prophet 4500 to work with fbdev - > but so far no luck.
