I've installed XFree86 for Darwin and have also installed XDarwin. I've
also edited my tcsh aliases like the XFree86 FAQ said to do. The
following are the errors I'm recieving.
when i log into tcsh I get an error:
MANPATH: Undefined variable
in the terminal when I type "startx" I get this error:
Fatal server error:
Failed to connect as window server!
Quit the Mac OS X window server or use the -quartz option.
OsVendorFatalError
AbortDDX
Quitting XDarwin...
giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 61): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
I am logged in as root and have installed everything as root. When I
type
startx -- -quartz I get this error:
Fatal server error:
assert failed on line 454 of darwinKeyboard.c!
OsVendorFatalError
AbortDDX
Quitting XDarwin...
X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
and when I follow the advice I have seen to type startx -- -keymap
USA.keymapping I get this error:

Quitting XDarwin...
giving up.

When logged in as root in the console and I type "startx -- -quartz" I
get and error about
KCGerror Failure and xinit error # 2 and 3.
but when I just type "startx" my machine tries to start it up but ends
in an infinite loop of the little spinning colored disc after displaying
"Display Mode: IOKit"
can anyone help??
