1. Did you install XFree86-4 from the ports?
Yes. I first installed from the site using the xinstall.sh, but I later read the 
online Freebsd handbook and used the ports version over it. Ports version definitely 
took the longest to install.

2. Did you compile a kernel with device agp?
3. Do you have the line below in /boot/loader.conf
agp_load="YES"

I followed the Freebsd handbook from there on in. Which meant that I did do the 
loader.conf thing. I'm not sure what you mean by number 2 though. I did do the "sh 
MAKEDEV agpgart" in the /dev directory, as it said in the Freebsd handbook. Was there 
something else to do that I missed?
