OK.
Check the LiViD mailing list- there is a new experimental driver which
(seems to) use the VGA BIOS (via int10) to leave TV-out enabled, and
working.

You'll need to be able to checkout the devel branch of their CVS tree,
build the source code, install the new ati driver, and configure yourself
a 60Hz (NTSC TV standard), or 50Hz (PAL standard) vertical refresh rate.
And use a 15bpp 800x600 mode. If you use a 16bpp mode, you may find you
get a greenish tint on the output.
Your monitor has to be able to handle these (low refresh rates) as well.
Then boot with the TV connected (BIOS screen, and text-mode should appear
automatically), and hope X works.
If it works everything should (?) work; that is DRI-3D, Xv, and the TV-in
support.
Personally, I haven't tried it yet (for a number of reasons), so I really
don't know how well it works.

If you have trouble/need more help, you really should check the
livid-gatos list.

Or you can always resort to the VESA of fbdev drivers...
