i got a new system, put redhat 6.2 (minimal
install) on it. i removed all the xfree86 packages that redhat installs be
default (using rpm -e --nodeps). then i downloaded all the xfree86 4.1.0
binaries for glibc21. i ran Xinstall.sh. everything seems to work
ok. then i updated ld.conf.so, ran ldconfig, and then typed "XFree86
-configure". bam, it crashed with a bunch of unresolved
symbols.
any help is greatly appreciated. i have no
idea what to do now. i was hoping to get kde2 up and running tonight and
then get samba working, etc etc.
anyways, here is my system info
1.4ghz athlon
abit kt7a motherboard
256megs ram
dell D1028L monitor
tnt2 video card
xfree86 4.0.1 for glibc2.1
