Well, I got X up and running on the Radeon 7500. I'm guessing that there is library problem with kde now and since I was using kdm for the login manager, I couldn't get X to start. I could get gdm to work when I was logged in as root, so I edited /etc/inittab and replaced the following line: x:5:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon with x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/gdm -nodaemon and now gdm loads on startup.
When I try to start some kde apps they don't seem to work. As an example: $ kfmclient kfmclient: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined symbol: pthread_key_create Any ideas? I reloaded all the kde rpms with -Uvh --force and it didn't seem to help. Thanks in advance.
