After installing the software on my Titanium running MacOS 10.1, I get the following:
graybeal% startx -- -quartz
Running in parallel with Mac OS X Quartz window server.
XFree86 Version 4.1.0 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6510)
Release Date: 2 June 2001
If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your hardware is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ)
Operating System: Darwin
Fatal server error:

giving up.
xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
===============================================
Since I can't find anything resembling the XDarwin application which is described for
running X11 from my Mac interface, I am pretty well bollixed. The installation
*looked* like it went OK, after I initially had some permission problems due to not
being root.
John
Any help appreciated.
