I had this problem when I tried to install as the 'administrator.' This isn't the same as 'root.' If you weren't actually 'root' (which requires an elaborate series of steps involving some application whose name I can't remember in the 'utilities' folder), enable the root user, log in as such, and run the installer script again. This worked for me. Apologies if you know about this already.
